We Provide On-site BanksmanTraining
In locations where reversing cannot be avoided employers should consider upskilling members of their team so that they have a trained signaller (a banksman) within the workplace, both to keep the reversing area free of pedestrians and to guide drivers.
Cameras, sensors, and alarms are all beneficial for reducing reversing incidents, but nothing can take the place of well-trained Banksmen or Reversing Assistants.
We know that banksmen are the eyes and ears of the vehicle drivers they are directing and that they can make all the difference when it comes to workplace transport and site safety, which is why it is so important for to undertake Banksman training that really hits the mark.
On successful completion of this hands-on practical training course, trainees will be able to act as a Banksman safely and skilfully. Each participant will have been trained and had practiced experience guiding the driver of a vehicle, helping him to manoeuvre in confined areas using all the appropriate hand signals and safety precautions.
The Company will be issued with Certification for all successful candidates.
The course covers the following:
What’s the problem?
Your workplace
Safe system of work – the operating environment
Reversing
Banksman signals
Driver’s field of vision
Communication
Potential hazards
Public highway banksman awareness
The course is assessed at the end and candidates are required to complete a theory test and a practical test to successfully pass and obtain a certificate of completion.
